Harnessing the potential of data linkage to improve mental health treatment

Jae Won Suh is a Research Fellow in Mental Health Data Science at University College London, experienced in using a range of administrative and clinical datasets for health research.

Jae’s background is in cardiovascular epidemiology, and her research interests are in using linked physical and mental health datasets to identify patients with physical health conditions who are at risk of poorer outcomes and access to mental health treatment.

In this talk, Jae will outline the benefits and challenges of using linked datasets for research, with a focus on the field of mental health. This includes research findings that identify people at higher risk of poorer access to and outcomes from psychological treatment, as well as how data linkage offers unique insights and new perspectives on addressing mental health inequalities.
